Impact of COVID 19 on the Handicraft structure

The COVID-19 epidemic and accompanying lockdown, which was declared in March 2020, has caused an economic downturn in India, which has harmed all sectors of the economy. The industrial sector, particularly the handcraft sector, was severely impacted by the pandemic. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the handicraft industry, studies indicates that producing craft employed a huge number of people both directly and indirectly, but the economic situation of most of the units is poor, as evidenced by the Gross Value Addition (GVA) of most of the units. A study discovered their jobs were severely impacted by the pandemic and subsequent lockdown, with production being halted or reduced due to a lack of labor, capital, and raw materials, a drop in demand for the product, a lack of market, transportation restrictions, and storage facilities. The timing of the lockout was especially bad for the Handicraft manufacturing industry. As a result, the artisans of the craft were forced into a precarious position.
